2007 April 17 - 27 June 19 - 28
Beginning in 2006, the Spring Seminar will be held at
Dunwoody United Methodist Church in Dunwoody, Georgia. The Summer Seminars
will be held on the Emory Campus in Decatur, Georgia.
National Seminar Format
Applications should be submitted as far in
advance as possible since seminars do fill early.
The
seminars may be taken in sequence most convenient to the student. The
project may be completed only after attending both seminars.
The
seminars
may be taken in the same year, but this is not required. Persons seeking
certification are normally expected to complete the three Institute
components within four years.
Each seminar lasts two weeks. Daily
sessions are held typically from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with adjournment
at noon on the final day. The middle weekend is free for individual and
team study, research, and fellowship.
Each seminar is
carefully planned to provide for not only an outstanding professional
learning experience, but a warm and welcoming place of fellowship and
sharing among the participants.
Each seminar may be taken independently.
Participants who are not working toward certification are welcome. A
limited number of Doctor of Ministry candidates are admitted.
Church
Finance and Administration Project
All persons working toward certification
choose a project directly related to their own work. In-depth research,
practical application and written description and evaluation will be done
in a specific area of church administration. More information about the
project is presented at the seminars.
